The patent, entitled ‘System and Method to Determine Quality of a Document Screening Process’, covers a document review quality process that produces acceptable levels of accuracy with greater speed and efficiency. The process defines and measurer errors and other metrics, performs related analyses, calibrates results, and analyses deviations and similarities. It also includes sampling strategies associated with document selection and prioritisation, as well as supporting statistically valid sampling to defensibly segregate and remove non-responsive documents.
The patent was issued in the name of COO Sirisha Gummaregula and Sreekanth Dharmakari, VP, business process. Ms Gummaregula noted that: ‘Lawyers need to get comfortable using statistics, process discipline and technology to effectively manage large-scale litigation and corporate matters.’
