VC firm invests $8m in startup that helps lawyers win more cases, faster

Startup Everlaw has announced an $8.1m round of funding from high-profile venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz, with ex-Microsoft Windows boss Steven Sinofsky joining the company's board.

Everlaw is a litigation and eDiscovery platform, using artificial intelligence to help lawyers sift more quicky and easily through the ‘couple million documents’ of emails, reports, and presentations that winning a big case can take, as founder AJ Shankar describes it. ‘The volume of data is insane and only getting bigger,’ he added.

Everlaw is currently being used by lawyers in the litigation over the General Motors faulty ignition switch recall; the firm intends to use the investment from Andreesen Horowitz to keep improving its technology and marketing in a bid to land more big cases. Source: Business Insider UK
