The Vienna-based firm – which has six existing offices around the region – will move into the Czech Republic capital via a take-over of local practice Kalis & Partners. The local firm was launched three years ago, following a spin off from the local office of Anglo-US giant DLA Piper.
Kalis focuses predominantly on mergers and acquisitions, as well as banking, project finance, property and litigation.
Commenting on the merger, CHSH partner Johannes Aehrenthal said: ‘We've found a fantastic partner. Both of our law firms have been co-operating very successfully for some time now. By opening an office in the Czech Republic, we're adding a neighbouring country to our CEE network, which was previously missing. This means a further expansion of our recognised position in CEE, a region whose potential we continue to believe in.’
