White & Case to negotiate over Barclays dispute

White & Case is to negotiate with the Saudi businessman who tried to force it to release documents about its former client Barclays.

Riyadh, Saudi Fedor Selivanov

Mohammed bin Issa al Jaber began legal proceedings against the firm in September, seeking the documents. The businessman alleged that the documents would show that Barclays had paid money for a Saudi business licence. He claims that his company,  MBI International, lost out as a result of a complicated set of transactions related to the bank.

Pause in proceedings

White & Case had counter sued. The two sides have now agreed to pause the proceedings and to negotiate. Source: Legal Week
