It is moving away from transactional work and refocusing on disputes work which will be done in the UK from the Mayfair office in the centre of London. WilmerHale is very much a litigation-focused firm, with half of its worldwide team working in that area. It is not yet clear how many lawyers will move over to Mayfair from the City base near St Paul's Cathedral.
Half of the Europe team
The firm's website showcases its London practice. It says: 'For more than 30 years, WilmerHale has been recognised as one of the leading international law firms in London, providing advice at the interface of law, business and policy.' Some 50 lawyers - half of the firm's European team of 100 - were based in the UK capital. The website goes on to say: 'Our London lawyers work closely with their colleagues in Brussels and Berlin, as well as with lawyers in our other offices.'
