Winston & Strawn - which earns 55 per cent of its turnover from litigation - is very unusual in setting up this capability in-house. Many large firms use the outside services of organisations such as Kroll and FTI. This year the firm has also started offering the service to other law firms.
Growth to continue
The main cost of litigation comes in the discovery process, says John Rosenthal, head of the practice. He estimates that 60 per cent of costs come within discovery. He said: ‘We’re getting hired to just do the e-discovery and work with other law firms to handle the substance.For us, I think the growth will continue for quite a while.’ Source: Washington Post
