Members of the association have voted to take the government to court unless a solution is found within a month. All Africa.com said that the appointment of Lombe Chibesakunda as acting Chief Justice is controversial because she is over statutory retirement age and also because a 'parliamentary select committee had unanimously rejected her appointment'.

The Association's honorary secretary Linda Kasonde released a statement, according to UK Zambians, in which she said that litigation will be undertaken 'along with other forms of dignified and affirmative action by the members of the Association'.
