International firm DAC Beachcroft has opened for business in Belfast, Northern Ireland. This is the second new office the firm has launched this year, having opened in Paris in January.

Joining forces

DAC Beachcroft has joined forces with Northern Irish firm McKinty and Wright, taking on that firm’s highly regarded insurance business. Seventeen fee earners, including six partners, have joined DAC Beachcroft and will focus on litigation, professional negligence and risk management. “Opening in Belfast is a strategic move for us in direct response to demand from our clients,” said David Pollitt, DAC Beachcroft’s managing partner. “For the insurance sector, in particular, Northern Ireland is an important location, and for us to have a presence across all jurisdictions in the UK means we can better serve our clients.

Best friends

Opening a new Belfast office follows closely on from DAC Beachcroft’s launch in Paris in January 2019 and continues driving forward the firm’s strategy to grow its footprint in strategically significant centres, while strengthening both the international and domestic support it offers to clients. Prior to opening in Belfast, DAC Beachcroft had a formal ‘best friends’ relationship with McKinty and Wright in place since 2016.
