Maria Pernas: New general counsel for Capgemini

Global technology consultancy company Capgemini has appointed Maria Pernas to the role of group general counsel. She joins from Atos where she held the position of group general counsel for operations and was responsible for the management of the regional legal teams and the contract management function. Maria was also group diversity programme manager. 'Maria brings to Capgemini a deep and varied legal background built throughout an international career, where she has held significant managerial and commercial responsibilities, along with over 20 years of experience in the IT industry. We are delighted to welcome her to the team,' Jean-Baptiste Massignon, member of the group executive committee and general secretary at Capgemini.   

Previous positions

She previously worked as external legal advisor at Price Waterhouse in Madrid, later moving to Sema Group (now Atos), where she was appointed to the role of general counsel Iberia and South America, and worldwide general counsel for the major events and entertainment business unit in charge of, among others, the Olympic project. In 2004 Maria took over the position of Vice-President General Counsel South Europe, Middle East, Africa and South America at the Rome office while keeping her previous responsibilities as General Counsel Major Events and Entertainment. She is a professor at the “Master in Digital Economy and IP Law” at HEAD in Paris
