Once operating through 360 lawyers, it saw revenue fall 20 per cent in 2013 and profits shrink 35 per cent. Its insurance group will become a central part of its strategy, now that it has decided not to operate as a full service firm. Chair Jim Kelly said: ‘We aren’t going to be everything to everyone. We recognize that different practices have different competitive and strategic profiles, and we permit each of those practice groups to have some flexibility in how they’re going to deliver value to their clients, which is a significant departure from how law firms have been historically managed.’
