KPMG hires for legal division in Ireland

KPMG is gearing up in Ireland for the arrival of multidisciplinary partnerships as it goes on a recruitment drive.

KPMG has launched its legal services division in Ireland as it gets ready for the Irish Government’s legal services bill which will permit multidisclipinary partnerships.The Big Four accounting firm has made a spate of hires from local Irish law firms and appointed ex-BlackBerry general counsel Francis Hackett as chairman of its legal division. Mr Hackett, who was a former managing partner with Eversheds in Ireland,  joined last month and the legal division has also hired six other lawyers as associate directors.These include Beauchamps partner Michael Moore, John O’Shea from McCann Fitzgerald, Aoife Netwon who worked at IBEC and Bank of Ireland lawyer Orla Cullen.
