From the class of 2013, law graduates who are working in private practice nine months after graduation found a job at a firm with more than 500 lawyers at a rate of about 20.6 per cent, according to data from the National Association of Law Placement. However, the number of jobs taken in 2013 is much lower than those taken by the class of 2009. In 2009, law graduates took 5,156 jobs, whereas in 2013, law graduates only took 3,980 jobs. Joseph Torres, chair of the hiring committee for Winston and Strawn LLP, said this could be due to a decrease in overall demand for legal services.Source: JDJ Journal?
