Pinsent Masons boosts its corporate team with the appointment of corporate partner and private equity specialist, Kieran Toal. Kieran joins Pinsent Masons’ Manchester office from Shoosmiths, where he led the corporate team and built up the firm’s private equity practice. Prior to that he spent 9 years at Addleshaw Goddard. He has "a wealth of experience" advising a wide range of large corporates and private equity houses and will play a key role in growing Pinsent Masons’ private equity practice in the UK and internationally.

Transactions

John Tyerman, head of corporate at Pinsent Masons said: 'Within the last six months our team advised AMC on two major deals - its US$1bn acquisition of Odeon & UCI cinemas and its US$900m acquisition of Nordic Cinema Group - helping it to significantly enhance its market position in Europe. These transactions really help to demonstrate the strength of our private equity practice and the international nature of much of the work we are doing.'

Well positioned

We have a really strong team that is well positioned to respond to both local and international market demands and we welcome the added expertise that Kieran will bring to further strengthen our private equity capability in Manchester and the UK in particular. He is a well-known private equity lawyer, with valuable expertise in the retail and consumer markets and we're really looking forward to working with him. "
