Four-partner Ashurst team to launch Tokyo office for King & Spalding

John McClenahan, former managing partner of Ashurst in the City, will become managing partner of the new King & Spalding office in Tokyo with an initial focus on energy and project finance.

Energy and project finance will be a particular focus of the new office which will work closely with the King & Spalding base in Singapore. Mr McClenahan, a project finance specialist, will be supported by energy partner Rupert Lewi (based in Perth), project finance and M&A partner Mark Davies (based in Tokyo) and disputes and regulation specialist Chris Bailery (also in Tokyo).
