She is one of Scotland’s leading divorce lawyers and is accredited as a specialist by the Law Society of Scotland. Dealing with complex, high-net-worth cases, she has extensive expertise in cases involving business valuations, partnerships, and farming, as well as disputes involving significant cohabitation claims. She has a particular interest in international cases including disputes involving children, and jurisdiction for financial claims. She is dual-qualified in Scotland and in England and Wales, and is frequently instructed in cases with a cross-border element, particularly in relation to asset protection, prenuptial, and postnuptial agreements. Gillian has a keen interest in alternative dispute resolution, and is a qualified collaborative lawyer, family mediator and arbitrator. She is a member of the Family Law Association and Resolution, and a fellow of the International Academy of Family Lawyers (IAFL). Gillian has an MA (Hons) in Italian and English Literature and an LLB from the University of Edinburgh, graduating in 1998.
