He is the author of Jersey’s leading trust disputes text Litigating Trust Disputes in Jersey Law, Procedure and Remedies. James advises and represents both beneficiaries and trustees in: breach of trust claims; asset tracing/recovery claims against trusts and trustees; claims for secondary liability against accessories; disputes concerning trust administration; applications to court for directions, variation and rectification of trusts; disputes about disclosure; the appointment and removal of trustees; and disputes about the exercise of powers. James advises on jurisdictional disputes and the enforcement of foreign judgments against trustees and beneficiaries. He also advises on a broad range of contentious commercial and company law disputes. Professional Memberships include the Contentious Trust Association (ConTrA), the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS), the Chancery Bar Association, and the Trust Law Working Committee of Jersey Finance.
