Kim Lancley Mbombo Kazadi is a South African-trained intellectual property lawyer who relocated to Dubai in 2022. Her legal career spans nearly 10 years, including seven years at leading IP-focused law firms, with a strong emphasis on brand protection, enforcement, and commercialisation strategies.
Since relocating to the UAE, Kim has expanded her practice across the Middle East and North Africa region, South Africa, the Southern African Development Community region, and Africa more broadly, advising local and international clients on a wide range of intellectual property matters. Her experience includes trade mark law, copyright law, unlawful competition, geographical indications, and adjacent digital-facing areas such as domain names, website terms and conditions, social media regulation, and influencer and commercial collaboration agreements. Within the fashion and luxury sectors, Kim has particular depth in advising brands on the enforcement of copyright and related IP rights in distinctive designer fashion and jewellery pieces.
In 2025, Kim’s work and growing influence in the IP field were recognised by WTR 1000 and Managing IP, and she was also selected to serve on INTA’s Enforcement Committee. Alongside her legal practice, Kim is an active content creator on YouTube and TikTok, where she shares insights at the intersection of law, branding, and digital culture.
