Marco de Vries is a senior associate and attorney-at-law in the Competition Team of Loyens & Loeff’s Corporate/M&A Expertise Group. He advises on European and Dutch competition law, with a focus on merger control, antitrust investigations, foreign direct investment (FDI) screening and foreign subsidies. Marco is known for combining strong analytical skills with a practical understanding of complex transactions, shaped by earlier experience in the firm’s Corporate M&A practice, including private equity deals and joint ventures. He regularly advises on high-profile and technically demanding matters at the intersection of competition, regulation and international investment, particularly in regulated and digital markets. Marco publishes and speaks frequently on developments in competition and FDI law and is admitted to the Amsterdam Bar.
