Ricardo Oliveira is the head partner of the EU and Competition Law practice at PLMJ. He has 30 years’ experience and has focused on defending companies in cartel cases and abuse of dominance proceedings. Ricardo also specialises in competition litigation, merger control, state aid, implementation of compliance programmes, and EU law and litigation. He has particular experience in the consumer goods, pharmaceuticals, financial services, insurance, transport, energy, and media sectors, and his clients include some of the leading international companies in these industries. Ricardo has a law degree from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon and an LLM in European law from the College of Europe in Bruges. Prior to joining PLMJ, Ricardo worked in the office of the President of the General Court of the European Union in Luxembourg, and at the European Commission in Brussels.
