Mr Van Tonder has worked in Africa, Europe and the Middle East in the  oil & gas industry industry. Prior to joining Exigent, he led the Schlumberger global contracts function in Paris where he was responsible for  the buy and sell side contracting in the company and managed a team of over 210 contract lawyers and managers globally.  As senior compliance counsel for Schlumberger (Eastern Hemisphere), Mr Van Tonder was responsible for managing and further developing compliance programmes within the Eastern Hemisphere and formulating hemisphere specific strategies and platforms and was an active member of Schlumberger’s global legal management team since 2008.
