This is one of the conclusions of the latest annual Altman Weil Chief Legal Officer Survey. Survey author Daniel J DiLuccho said: ‘The impact of the recession on in-house law departments has been twofold. Internal department resources have been constrained in many cases, but at the same time law departments have gained more leverage over external resources. Chief Legal Officers are buyers in what is currently a strong buyers' market.’
Reductions
Half of the 186 chief legal officers surveyed have received price reductions of between 6 and 10%. And 36% have received cuts of over 10%. Source: Altman Weil
