Amazon is developing its cloud service business, known as Amazon Web Services (AWS). Maquarie Capital estimates its revenues will go from $5.3b this year to $8.1b by 2015. AWS is already used by over 600 US government agencies, according to Amazon. AWS vice president Teresa Carlson said they “look forward to continuing to demonstrate the security and reliability of the AWS cloud so that an even broader set of Department of Defense customers can use our services to reduce costs and innovate for their missions.” Source: Financial Times
