The Global Legal Post today launches the third edition of the Law Over Borders comparative guide to Anti-Counterfeiting.
Co-edited by Lipkus Law co-founder Lorne Lipkus and his colleague, IP specialist Melissa Tarsitano, the guide provides practical guidance on protecting brands against counterfeiting and grey market activities across key jurisdictions worldwide.
It covers criminal and civil enforcement, border measures and grey market goods, as well as legislative developments and enforcement trends affecting rights holders.
It also examines how counterfeiting is evolving online, with dedicated coverage of marketplaces, social media, domain names and artificial intelligence, including the ways new technologies are being used both to combat counterfeiting and by counterfeiters seeking to evade detection.
In his introduction to the guide, Lipkus stresses the importance of collaboration in responding to increasingly sophisticated counterfeit operations.
“Through collaborative effort, we can better meet the challenge presented by counterfeiters, who are constantly seeking ways to circumvent existing legislation and often employ sophisticated methods to hide their illicit activities,” he writes.
“It is only through cost-effective measures and cooperation between right holders, industry partners, governments, and brand protection professionals that we can meet this ever-growing challenge.”

Chapters are arranged in a Q&A format, enabling readers to compare how different jurisdictions approach key aspects of anti-counterfeiting enforcement and brand protection.
In addition, the online version allows users to compare answers to the same question across selected jurisdictions to facilitate comparison.
The guide also features Market Insights chapters exploring issues that cut across jurisdictions.
The print edition, which is available to order, will be officially launched at the sixth annual Anti-Counterfeiting World Law Summit, which is hosted by The Global Legal Post and takes place at The Caledonian Club in London on 29 September.
Lipkus will lead a session at the summit during which authors will share key developments from their jurisdictions.
A PDF version of the guide is also available for download.
