Nasa has appointed a new general counsel. Sumara Thompson-King takes over the role after the retirement of Michael Wholley who held the position for the last decade. Ms Thompson-King is currently the deputy general council of the Office of the General Counsel at Nasa Headquarters in Washington which deals with functional leadership regarding legal services and issues related to all aspects of NASA activities. She joined NASA in 1986 - jioning the Office of Chief Counsel at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Centre in Greenbelt, Maryland. In 1991, she moved ot NASA Headquarters to become a senior lawyer responsible for litigating protests before the General Services Administration Board of Contract Appeals and in 1996 became Deputy Associate General Counsel (Contracts). She has won awards for her litigation accomplishments.
Global advertising company Clear Channel Outdoor Holdings has recruited Craig Gangi as its US and Canadian general counsel. Hailing from Omnicom Media Group where he was general counsel, his new roles sees him jointly reporting to chief operating officer and chief compliance officer for North America Suzanne Grimes as well as Clear Channel's general counsel Rob Walls.
Filtration cmpany Donaldson Co has promoted its assistant general counsel Amy Becker to the main job following the retirement of general counsel and corporate secretary Norm Linnell who retires on 1 August. Ms Becker, who has been with the company for 16 years, build Donaldson's intellectual property, litigation and compliance functions. She also worked for law firm Dorsey & Whitney and Harmon Ltd.
Intellectual property company Patent Properties appoined a new Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel. Jonathan Siegel takes up the job from Bentham Capital which provides large scale litigation financing. At Bentham he served as Investment Manager and Legal Counsel.
