Greta Schnetzler has been appointed as chief campus counsel at the University of California, San Francisco, in a joint decision by the university and UC Office of the General Counsel.
According to the university’s website, Ms Schnetzler will replace long-time UC lawyer Marcia Canning who is set to retire in June.
Ms Schnetzler has served UCSF as the deputy campus counsel since 2005. Prior to that, she was a partner at San Francisco firm Gordon & Rees, where she specialised in representing universities in all aspects of employment, civil rights and education law.
Meanwhile, US propane trade group the National Propane Gas Association has appointed former American Gas Association senior managing counsel Jeff Petrash as its first general counsel.
The Blog of Legal Times reports that Mr Petrash became the National Propane Gas Association's vice president and general counsel this month after starting as a consultant for the group last autumn.
American adhesive manufacturer Nordson Corporation has announced the appointment of Gina Beredo to deputy general counsel & assistant secretary in the company’s law department.
Business Wire reports that Ms Beredo previously held the position of chief litigation counsel and director of compliance & ethics with greetings card company American Greetings Corporation.
Ms Beredo also worked for Cleveland law firm Baker & Hostetler.
