The Bank of England (BoE) has beefed up its team to deal with work from its financial services regulatory body Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA). Jonathan Grant moves as head of the BoE’s insurance division to become head of financial stability and market infrastructure. Monique Cormier has become VP and General Counsel at Aptean, an international business solutions company. She will take charge of Aptean’s global legal functions. Cormier has experience in global technology organizations, having been associate general counsel for the Groupe Speciale Mobile Association (GSMA).
General Cable executive VP, general counsel and company secretary Robert Siverd will retire once the company finds a suitable replacement. Siverd plans to stay connected with the Fortune 500 Company in a reduced capacity, on a consultative or project-specific basis.
Last week, Harvey Anderson was appointed as Chief Legal Officer of AVG, an online security company. He is making the switch from Mozilla where he worked as SVP Business and Legal Affairs. Anderson has over 20 years’ experience in navigating transactions for important technology companies.
The former head of Royal Dutch Shell’s legal team, Peter Rees QC, who unexpectedly left the company, is to return to intenational arbitration and is planning to join either a law firm or the bar, according to Legal Week.
James Kilcur passed away Wednesday, 19 February aged 62 years old. He served as general counsel for SEPTA for 8 years before moving on to Saul Ewing, where he worked for 20 years and was a partner in the labour, employment and employee benefits practice. Saul Ewing Managing Partner Barry Levin said Kilcur “will be missed by all who knew him.”
