Mr Nyberg had been with SCA for 24 years, but leaves to become executive vice president in charge of corporate governance and legal affairs for Industrivärden.
Mr Nyberg will be replaced at SCA by Mikael Schmidt, who joined the SCA Group in 1992 and served most recently as head of legal affairs in Brussels for the packaging operation, which was recently divested.
The appointments take effect on 1 October.
