US and Indian software company Persistent Systems has appointed Tom Klein, ex-partner in the Silicon Valley office of Greenberg Taurig, as its GC.

Avaya, the international communications technology company, has appointed Isabel Botha as corporate counsel for Australia and New Zealand. She used to be legal counsel for CA Technologies

Natural Markets Food Group is appointing Laura Alemzadeh as its new GC. She was most recently GC of Kawasaki Rail Car where she was in charge of legal, corporate and communications. Natural Markets Food Group is the parent company of the Mrs Green’s and Planet Organic chains. 

Infosys, a technology company listed on the New York stock exchange, is appointing David D Kennedy as GC. He will be based in its Palo Alto office. He has worked in the technology sector for 25 years, most recently at the JDA Software Group

Brad Phelps, formerly chief deputy Attorney General for Arkansas state, is to become associate GC at the Arkansas State University System. He became chief deputy Attorney General in 2010. 

The Missouri Association of Counties has whittled down a short list of 16 candidates to appoint Travis Elliott as GC. He was editor-in-chief of the Missouri Environmental Law and Policy Review and now lives in Dallas County.
