University of Minnesota President Eric Kaler has announced that William Donohue will become the school's next general counsel.
Mr Donohue – who has served as deputy general counsel since 1996 - will replace general counsel Mark Rotenberg, who recently resigned to take a position at Johns Hopkins University in Maryland, reports the Minnesota Daily.
American broadcaster DIRECTV has picked Michael Hartman as its new corporate secretary and deputy general counsel, adding to his role of senior vice president and general counsel of DIRECTV Latin America.
The Wall Street Journal reports that Mr Hartman will oversee all legal, government relations and regulatory affairs for DIRECTV's rapidly growing Latin America business, while taking on key corporate governance responsibilities for DIRECTV.
Leonard Kennedy has joined telecommunications specialist Neustar as senior vice president and general counsel.
GovConWire reports that the former general counsel and chief government affairs officer at Sprint Nextel will officialy begin his new role on 13 May, overseeing Neustar’s legal and external affairs efforts such as public policy and government relations.
Mr Kennedy succeeds Scott Blake Harris, who is returning to private practice after two years in the position.
