Insurance underwriter Novae Group has appointed Alexandra Moon as its first-ever group general counsel. She also joins Novae’s Group Executive Committee reporting to Matthew Fosh, Chief Executive. She joins from RSA where she spent seven years in a number of senior roles, most recently as General Counsel for its Emerging Markets Division. Prior to joining RSA, Ms Moon qualified in the corporate department of Allen & Overy before joining Travers Smith, where she focused on M&A, private equity and corporate finance.
Wonga has appointed Bill Flynn as its new general counsel, fresh from his role heading up the legal team at debt management company CapQuest Group. Previously Chief Compliance Officer at GE Capital, Mr Flynn also worked at Zurich Group.
The National Music Publishers’ Association has announced the promotion of Danielle Malito Aguirre to general counsel and senior vice president, business affairs. In her new role, Aguirre will oversee the association’s legal, business and policy objectives. Previously, she was the senior vice president for litigation and business affairs at NMPA. In that position, she managed litigation and Copyright Royalty Board proceedings, and handled business affairs such as negotiating model industry license agreements. Before her time at the NMPA, Ms Aguirre was at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison in Washington, DC.
Swedish company Fingerprint Cards has appointed Henrik Sundell as general counsel to oversee FPC’s legal affairs. He joins FPC's leadership team, having previously worked with DeLaval and Ericsson. The company has joined forces with O-Film to provide its touch fingerprint sensor technology.
Joseph Ruh has been appointed General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at US healthcare company Carestream Health, leading the company’s worldwide legal organisation and joining the senior executive leadership team. Formerly Deputy General Counsel and Assistant Corporate Secretary for Carestream, he was the company’s lead lawyer for its medical and dental businesses. He has previously worked at Eastman Kodak in its Internet group. He also served as division counsel for its digital imaging and motion picture organisations. Before his career at Kodak, Ruh was in-house counsel at Computer Consoles, a subsidiary of Nortel. He also practiced corporate and securities law at the Rochester law firm of Harris Beach.
Cook Group has promoted Cynthia Kretz, its general counsel since 2008, to the position of vice-president and general counsel. Ms Kretz will continue her work leading the global operations of the company's legal department, while also directing representation in court for Cook Group Incorporated and its affiliates. She previously worked at Wabash National from 1999 to 2007, where she helped establish its legal department and eventually ascended to the post of vice-president and general counsel, and secretary to the board of directors.
