Average UK income for fee earners rises

Fee earners in the UK are bringing in six per cent more income than a year ago in the top 25 firms, and 4.5 per cent more among the top 100, according to a survey from Deloitte.

Hourly rates went up by 3.5 per cent among the top 100, comparing the quarter ending on 31 January with that of the same period to January 2013. Jeremy Black of Deloitte said: ‘Greater confidence amongst lawyers when negotiating rates, particularly against a background of limited fee earner capacity has driven these increases.’ Source: Legal Week
