Sentenced to four years in prison - an outcome which is likely to be translated into a shorter period of home arrest for the 76-year old - the politician vowed to continue his battle against a judicial system which is widely seen as seriously flawed in the peninsula. In a video statement released after the decision, the media billionaire said, according to Gazzetta del Sud: 'We'll tell the Italians to give us back the (governing) majority to modernise the country, starting from the most indispensable, the justice system, to prevent a citizen being deprived of his freedom.'
