The record high turnover figure continues the firm’s trend of growth, with revenue increasing in 2014/15 by 9 per cent from £32.1m and 2013/14 by 12 per cent from £28.65m.
Birketts has also announced the appointment of James Austin as senior partner, with Nigel Farthing stepping down from the post after 10 years. Mr Farthing played a major role in the expansion of the firm, which has offices in Cambridge, Chelmsford, Ipswich and Norwich, and was at the helm when it became a top 100 firm after merging with Chelmsford-based Wollastons.
