Canadian lawyer seeks protection over alleged Rwanda death threats

A Toronto-based lawyer who acted for a Rwanda general on war crimes charges says he is 'very worried' by reports claiming he is on a hit list.

Christopher Black has written a sworn affidivat and also written to the Public Safety Minister, asking for the threats against him to be taken seriously. He spent 14 years defending the general, Augustin Ndindiliyimana. Mr Black claims that two officers from Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) met him to warn of the threat. The lawyer holds some controversial views on Rwanda and on war crimes in general. During the 14 years of the trial of the general, Mr Black cross-examined other generals, politiicans, journalists and numerous other influential figures. Source: The Star
