Qualcomm is suspected of overcharging and abusing its market position, according to the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) of China. Xu Kunlin of the body said: 'We received reports from relevant associations and companies that Qualcomm abuses its dominant position in the market and charges discriminatory fees.'
Met counsel
The NRDC carried out raids at the company's Beijing HQ and Shanghai offices in November. It has subsequently met Fabian Gonell, counsel for technology licensing as well as William Bold, senior vice president for government affairs. Qualcomm intends to 'continue co-operating fully with the NDRC', says a spokeswoman. Source: Reuters
