Chadbourne partner Douglas Deutsch is set to join the magic circle firm’s Americas Financial Restructuring Group. Mr Deutsch is leaving Chadbourne after 15 years, having been made a partner in 2009. He has worked on a wide range of bankruptcy proceedings and restructurings, representing creditors' committees, secured and unsecured creditors and indenture trustees.

His arrival comes alongside the hire of Robert E. Rice, who has joined the firm’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice as a partner. Mr Rice has previously served as chief counsel to the chairwoman of the SEC from 2013 to 2015 and as a federal prosecutor in the United States Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York, ultimately becoming a deputy chief of the Criminal Division. In that role, Mr Rice investigated and prosecuted federal crimes including securities fraud, money laundering and public corruption.

His practice at Clifford Chance will focus on regulatory enforcement investigations and proceedings, and criminal investigations and prosecutions.
