Ms Midgley, of Bristol, has been appointed as a recorder for the Crown Court. The position is part-time, with appointees expected to sit for 30 days per year, and will take effect from 11 January.
High flyer
A graduate of Cambridge Law School, Ms Midgley has been consistently recognised for her legal talents. She was graded 'Outstanding' for the Bar Vocational Course (now the Bar Professional Training Course), which she studied as a Middle Temple scholar. Since being called to the bar in 2005, Ms Midgley has built an impressive career as a criminal lawyer in both prosecution and defence, and is on the panel of rape and serious sexual offences prosecutors.
