Dechert pays $2.4m to settle 10-year dispute over Coudert partners

Dechert has agreed to end a dispute relating to 11 partners who were recruited from Coudert Brothers a month after it announced it was applying for bankruptcy.

The partners - six from Coudert's office in Paris and five from its outpost in Brussels - had left without billing for all the work they had done. Various assets were sold off. The administrators subsequently claimed that Dechert had underpaid Coudert in relation to the departures. A settlement has now been agreed. Source: Legal Business
