The bankruptcy trustee of defunct law firm Dewey & LeBoeuf has demanded $13.9 million from the firm’s former Saudi Arabian partner. The trustee, Alan Jacobs, filed 11 adversary proceedings in New York’s bankruptcy court yesterday amounting to around $22.5 million which was allegedly paid out to its equity partners when the firm was insolvent, the court documents claim. Khalid Al-Thebity, a former equity partner who is a resident of Saudi Arabia, left the firm in 2012 to head up Patton Boggs’ office in Riyadh. He practices corporate, commercial and financial law with energy and real estate a particular focus and has represented the Government of Saudi Arabia for more than 15 years. Mr Jacobs is also seeking interest, fees and costs. Source: Chapter11cases.com
