Duane Morris opens office in Shanghai

The 700-lawyer US practice Duane Morris is opening a five-lawyer office in Shanghai, targeted particularly at Chinese companies expanding outwards.

Shanghai becomes the firm's third foreign presence, after opening in Oman and Myanmar in the last 10 months. The firm's chair John Soroko said: 'Our launch in China builds upon the firm’s substantial growth and successes in Asia during the past several years, as well as our extensive experience handling China-focused matters for numerous multinational companies. It is our intent to be a key facilitator of Chinese companies seeking to invest abroad.' Source: Bloomberg Law
