A prototype was opened last week at Al Qusias Metro station. It is a legal administration centre run by Fixit Express. The Road and Transport Agency has said that spaces will be allocated when they become available and if they are in geographically convenient locations. The first posts to be opened are envisaged for the Metro but there are plans to roll out similar spaces on the bus network.
Court work
Fixit, started in 1988, offers a wide range of admin services which help citizens make applications and comply with the local laws. Its services cover a range of areas including immigration, visa, medical, court issues, attestation and translation. General manager Jacob Walters said: 'The footfalls in Metro stations are very high. We are testing waters in Al Qusais, also because there are several government departments, like the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Labour, so it is a feasible locality for a centre like this.'
