Legal sector recruitment consultant Elliott Rogers has launched his own firm, EJR Recruitment, a specialist agency focused on the Bar, law firms and the wider legal profession.
Rogers, who previously worked at specialist chambers compliance consultancy Briefed, said EJR Recruitment would recruit for fee-earning, management and business support roles.
The firm's remit includes barristers, chambers management, practice management, business development, operations, marketing, finance, human resources, clerking, compliance and administration.
Rogers said: “EJR Recruitment has been created to offer a specialist, relationship-driven service that places quality, integrity and long-term partnerships at the heart of every appointment.”
He added that the agency’s exclusive focus on recruitment would support both employers and candidates, while he would continue to work with Briefed and other partners, including PR agency AIM and marketing agency MNma.
He also pointed to the importance of reputation in the legal market. “The legal profession is built on relationships, trust and reputation, and EJR Recruitment has been founded on those same principles,” Rogers said.
Briefed founder and CEO Orlagh Kelly said: “Elliott has been a pleasure to work with, and I’m genuinely delighted to support him at this next stage. We’ll be recommending him without hesitation to any chambers looking to grow or strengthen their team. For our part, we’re focused on what our chambers clients need most right now – substantive support in managing governance, risk and compliance as the regulatory demands on chambers continue to increase.”
In 2024, Briefed merged with specialist governance recruiters DMJ Recruitment, owned by private equity specialists Omni Partners, as part of Kelly's plans to create a full-service business spanning compliance, recruitment and training, with support from Invest Northern Ireland.
Briefed’s recruitment arm, however, closed earlier this year, according to DMJ Recruitment's founder David Press, who subsequently founded a new agency – DPA Group – in April.
Prior to joining Briefed, Rogers worked at InnLegal with founder Ellie Hecht from 2024 to 2025 and at other legal-sector consultancies, including ABC Chambers Solutions, where he was head of recruitment for seven years, building on his experience as a clerk in various sets.
EJR Recruitment’s launch reflects the continued development of specialist recruitment services for lawyers, particularly barristers’ chambers, where hiring needs can span clerking, administration, compliance, business development, senior management and barrister recruitment, including secondments to law firms.
The new agency joins a field in which specialist Bar-centred recruitment consultants are increasingly prominent, with two members of ABC Chambers Solutions, Sam Biggerstaff and Lucy Burrows, acting as clerks to the London arm of Singapore’s Duxton Hill Chambers (a Singapore Group Practice). Meanwhile, InnLegal – founded by Hecht, who was shortlisted at the 2026 Women and Diversity in Law Awards – continues to place candidates across a wide range of seniorities within clerks' rooms.
In 2024, former Fox Rodney consultant Johnny Fort founded Fort Stratford.
