Even after her departure, her troubles continued. So pointed has been some of the criticism of her that a major Reddit adviser, Sam Altman, urged some of her critics to moderate their attacks. He said: 'People are still people even if there is internet between you. If the Reddit community cannot learn to balance authenticity and compassion, it may be a great website but it will never be a truly great community.' Mr Altman has taken over from Ms Pao as chief executive.
Employee fired
Ms Pao, formerly of Cravath Swaine, has been the head of Reddit for the last two years. Reddit describes itself as the 'frontpage of the internet' and enables users to shares links to interesting items. Ms Pao came under public attack after a Reddit employee on the popular 'Ask me anything' site was sacked earlier this month.
Cult of personalities
Mr Altman called her a 'pioneer for women in the tech industry'. Her case with Kleiner Perkins focused on the way she was treated as a female. She accused Klener Perkins of sexism and her lawyer alleged that it was 'an aggressive, tough environment' and had become a 'cult of personalities'. Source: BBC
