Fake law firms are on the increase, more than doubling in the past two years. Figures from the Solicitors Regulatory Authority revealed it had received 701 complaints compared with 312 in 2012 in England and Wales. The bogus firms range from those sending texts to say compensation is available for a claim to criminals posing as solicitors to get involved in transactions worth large sums of money.
