Fifth of professional firms admit to fraud attacks

Professional firms appear to be less exposed to fraud risks than other businesses - but 20% of them still admit to having been attacked.

The PwC ‘Global Economic Crime 2014 Survey’ found that financial services and retail organisations were the most likely to say that they had been victims of economic crime - with 49% of respondents in each sector admitting attacks. Law and other professional service firms were at the other end of the spectrum - on 20%.  Regarding bribery and corruption, professional firms (18%) were close to the bottom of the range while engineering organisations - 50% - were at the top. The survey involved over 5,000 respondents in 99 countries. Source: PwC
