Firms to be pushed to give global legal advice by 2023

Law firms will find themselves needing to advise clients on which jurisdictions in the world are best to operate in, rather than restricting themselves to their own domestic market, according to consultants.

A report issued by Law2023, looking ahead eight years, suggests that businesses will increasingly be making decisions about which jurisdictions around the world would be best for them to operate in. One of the participants in the research behind the report, Timothy B Corcoran of Corcoran Consulting, says: 'Just as businesses today adopt structures to address taxation concerns, they will face similar choices based on various jurisdictions’ approaches to environmental, trade, labor, IP protection, and other practices.'
