 Mary Ann Hynes, now a senior counsel at the Chicago office of Dentons, joined information services company CCH and went on to join other industries as GC.  Her message was reiterated by other speakers at the  Crains summit for General and In-house Counsel when discussing how general counsel can be better partners in their businesses.Kim Yapchai, assistant general counsel and director of group legal affairs and corporate ethics at Masco Corp,  advocates reading trade publications and says her job is to translate what the law allows the company to do to reach its goals, instead of having executives ask if they can do x, y or z and her repeating “no”.
