A Missouri lawyer has been confirmed as the new US Ambassador to Ireland. Kevin F O Malley of law firm Greensfelder was confirmed yesterday in a statement from the White House. Mr O Malley, who has been a lawyer for more than 35 years, is head of the firm’s medical negligence and white collar crime and regulatory compliance areas of practice.
O’Malley was an Instructor for the American Bar Association’s Central and East European Law Initiative (CEELI) in Moscow in 1996 and Warsaw in 1999. He also served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at St. Louis University School of Law from 1979 to 1985 and Washington University School of Law in 2013-2014. In 1968, he served as a Community Ambassador in Prague, Czechoslovakia. He was also an Assistant US Attorney in St Louis from 1979 to 1983 and a Special Attorney in Organised Crime and Racketeering from 1973 to 1979.
