Indian lawyers impacted by new directorship rules

The Securities Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has reduced the number of directorships any one person can hold to seven.  According to  Legally India, this will impact on partners of law firms such as  Khaitan & Co managing partner Pradip ‘Pintu’ Khaitan who holds 14 directorship seats.  Rajendra Ambalal Shah, who has chaired the Indian branches of many multinational companies such as Procter & Gamble and Pfizer Ltd, could also be impacted by the new rules.  Source: Legally India
