Law firms should focus on the now, says outsourcing chief Bob Gogel Syda Productions

Global outsourcing company Integreon's CEO Bob Gogel has called for lawyers to stop talking about the future of law and instead focus on the opportunities available for those willing to embrace the industry as it stands today. In a blog he says that the recession forced firms to take a stark look at their operations with many downsizing and others going out of business. With demand for legal services rising, Mr Gogel believes there are opportunities for those willing to 'embrace today's new reality of the business of law.' With this in mind, he offers the following advice to law firms:

  • Act now. Make choices today and implement them. Failure to take action essentially dooms you to do more of the same tomorrow.
  • Be willing to experiment. Learn from your mistakes and your successes. You can always tweak those strategies again until you get it right. That’s the true practice of innovation brought to life.
  • Remember not to wait for the perfect answer – there are practical solutions all around us that can solve real problems right now. Don’t hide behind the uncertainty of what might be.
